Privacy Policy
Last updated:
Adey is a menstrual cycle and pregnancy tracker published by Melaku Demeke. What you log is among the most personal data there is, so the app is built to keep it on your phone unless you choose otherwise. This policy explains what is stored, where, and how to remove it.
1. Data that stays on your phone
By default everything you enter is saved only on your device. We cannot see it. This includes:
- Period dates, cycle and period length, and flow.
- Symptoms, moods, water, weight, sleep, temperature, discharge, test results, intimacy and notes.
- Pregnancy details: due date, kick counts, contraction timings, check-ups, height and pre-pregnancy weight.
- Your settings, including language, reminders and app lock.
Reminders are scheduled by your phone itself. They are not sent from our servers.
2. Data you choose to send to us
Three optional features use our server. None is switched on unless you turn it on.
- Google sign-in: we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google to create your account.
- Cloud backup: a copy of your tracking data is stored under your account so you can restore it on another phone. Backups are protected in transit and by access rules on the server, but they are not end-to-end encrypted.
- Partner link: a short summary is shared with the one partner you link, such as your current phase, next expected period, or pregnancy week. Fertility details and today's moods and symptoms are shared only if you switch those on. Notes, weight and your history are never shared.
Reading articles in the Learn tab downloads public content. Like any website, the hosting provider's logs may record your IP address.
3. What we do not do
- We do not sell or rent your data.
- We do not show ads or share data with advertisers.
- We do not use third-party analytics or tracking tools in the app.
- We do not use your health data to profile you.
4. Phone permissions
- Camera: only to scan a partner's QR code. No pictures are saved.
- Fingerprint, face or device PIN: checked by your phone. The app only learns whether the check passed.
- Notifications: to show the reminders you switch on.
5. Who processes the data
Optional account, backup and partner data is kept in our own database on a web server we rent from a hosting company. Google handles sign-in. The publisher and anyone he authorises to help run Adey can see account emails and partner-link status in order to give support and to delete accounts on request.
6. Keeping and deleting data
Data on your phone stays until you delete it or uninstall the app. Account, backup and partner data stays until you delete your account.
- Delete everything on the phone: Settings, then Delete all data.
- Delete your account and all server data: Settings, then Account, then Delete account.
- Stop sharing with a partner: Settings, then Partner, then unlink.
You can also email melaku.demeke789@gmail.com and we will delete your account within 30 days.
7. Your choices and rights
You can use Adey without an account. You can export a report of your data from the app, correct anything you logged, and withdraw from backup or partner sharing at any time. To ask what we hold about you, write to the address below.
8. Children
Adey is for people aged 13 and over. The app asks your age when you set it up and does not let anyone under 13 continue. The age you enter is used only for that check and is not saved or sent to us. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13; if you believe a child has an account, email us and we will delete it.
9. Not medical advice
Predictions are estimates. Adey is a tracking aid, not a medical device, and must not be relied on as contraception or for diagnosis.
10. Changes and contact
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update the date above and tell you in the app. Questions: melaku.demeke789@gmail.com.
